WASHINGTON, D.C.—Today, following a meeting with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Senator Ashley Moody announced that nearly half a billion dollars in FEMA public assistance funding for Florida will be approved and released immediately.

Senator Ashley Moody said, “I am proud to announce that following a very productive meeting with the Department of Homeland Security, we’ve secured a commitment for nearly a half a billion dollars in FEMA public assistance funding to be released immediately. This is much needed for Floridians following devastating storms over the past few years. I will never stop working for a Stronger, Safer Florida.”

Because of Senator Moody’s advocacy, DHS has approved funding for 535 public assistance projects totaling $480,952,894.48. The 535 projects included in the package span 14 disasters declared some of which have been unfulfilled for years.
