TAMPA, Fla.—Senator Ashley Moody supports the more than three million small businesses in the Sunshine State. Senator Moody cosponsored a Senate Resolution recognizing May 3-May 9 as National Small Business Week, celebrating the contributions of small businesses and entrepreneurs throughout the U.S.
“It’s National Small Business Week, and there’s no better place in America to start and grow a business than Florida. Our small businesses are the backbone of our economy, driving innovation, creating jobs, and keeping our communities strong. I will continue fighting to ensure entrepreneurs have the freedom and opportunity to succeed,” said Senator Ashley Moody.
BACKGROUND:
· Florida is home to 3.5 million small businesses, making up 99.8% of Florida businesses overall. Florida’s small businesses employ nearly 4 million people.
· According to a recent report, Florida was ranked best place to start a business in the country.
· In the U.S., there are more than 36.2 million small businesses that support more than 62.3 million jobs.
