PENSACOLA, Fla. — Today, Senator Ashley Moody received a briefing from Naval Air Station Pensacola base leadership to discuss the critical importance of the Navy and Coast Guard’s presence in the Florida panhandle and share legislative priorities. Naval Air Station Pensacola is known as the “Cradle of Naval Aviation” and is where all Naval and Marine Corps aviators begin their training, and Senator Moody is committed to ensuring that Florida remains at the forefront of military readiness.

Senator Ashley Moody said, “Florida is home to a massive military presence that plays a critical role in
strengthening our nation’s security with 21 military bases and three combatant commands. I want to thank NAS Pensacola, Captain Newman, and all the sailors, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen for sharing their priorities so that I can continue to advocate on their behalf in the U.S. Senate. Pensacola isn’t just a military town – it is the “Cradle of Naval Aviation,” and the journey that begins here is what keeps our country and world safe from those who threaten our freedom. To the brave men and women who put on the uniform every day and serve this great nation: your sacrifice and service is deeply admirable. I will continue to do everything in my power to support NAS Pensacola and Florida’s entire military community and their families.”
