



SPACE COAST, Fla.—Senator Ashley Moody today showcased Florida’s integral role in national defense and space exploration as part of Secretary of War Pete Hegseth’s Arsenal of Freedom Tour. Senator Moody joined Secretary Hegseth for several events today, including an Oath of Enlistment Ceremony at the Valiant Warbird Museum, a coin recognition ceremony with Patrick Space Force Base, a defense discussion at Kennedy Space Center with NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman, and a visit to Blue Origin.
Senator Ashley Moody said, “I’m honored to join Secretary Hegseth and Administrator Isaacman at today’s Arsenal of Freedom Tour here in Florida. From supporting job creation and our military readiness, to launching the next generation of innovation, our state plays a major part in our nation’s defense and leadership in space. I will continue working every day in Washington to protect the Sunshine State’s critical role in keeping our nation safe and secure.”
Florida is the proud home of 21 military installations, three combatant commands, more than 90,000 active and reserve members of the armed forces, and more than 1.5 million veterans.
Senator Moody has long fought for Florida’s military members. As Florida Attorney General, Moody oversaw the Military and Veterans Assistance Program to assist servicemembers, veterans and their families who encounter scams or fraud.
Florida is a world leader in space exploration and the ideal location for rocket launches, partnerships with private space companies, and a robust, skilled aerospace workforce bringing true efficiency and collaboration to NASA. Florida is number one in the world in space launches with 109 successful launches in 2025.
